I was off work for just over three weeks.
When I returned I was expecting to see one of my favourite work based sights.
Behind my classroom is a 15 year old clematis. At this time of year it is a cascade of pink blossom. Spectacular and breathtaking. For about a month it is a true thing of beauty.
Birds nest in it and watching them flit in and out gives us all pleasure.
Of course, when the council gardeners have sawn through the stem it isn’t much to look at.
What a shame they couldn’t tell the difference between a dead plant and a clematis in Winter.
Mind you, they’ve left the Japanese Knotweed, so I’m sure that will be allowed to grow and thrive.
