The ornamental cherry tree (rhs of picture) is hanging on to its leaves. It’s odd, because at the start of the year it looked pretty sick but it has made a magnificent recovery and seems determined to outlast all the other trees in the garden.
At the bottom of the garden the beech is green and gold. When I lie in bed Incan see the leaves drifting down in the breeze.
The chestnut was the first to start to change and is nearly bare, just a few leaves hanging on to the end of the branches.
