Cupboard Love

Our Tesco delivery is due tomorrow so the fridge is looking rather empty.

This means that yesterday and today tea wasn’t so much created from a recipe, more a mix of what we had.


Onions, garlic, celery, carrots, chorizo, tomatoes, tomato puree, herbs, Worcestershire sauce, chickpeas and a handful of orzo simmered slowly overnight into a stew.

Today (day 2)  there wasn’t quite enough so I heated it and then cracked two eggs on top and put the lid back on until they cooked before topping each portion with a sprinke of grated cheese.


It tasted better than it looks and on a cold evening was very warming and filling.
